In life, actions have consequences. One choice or decision can spin your life in an entirely new direction. Life can, also, offer redemption (Lamentations 3:57-58) and second chances for those who face the music and put the work into repairing what they broke. Sometimes it takes losing what you love most, to realize life’s fragility. Every human will experience the regret, pain, and hollowness that come with the consequences of a bad decision. Unfortunately, not everyone will experience the freedom, joy, and power that come from overcoming the lowest points in life.
We hope that you, Turpin, will rise above this. We hope that you will feel in your heart the support you still have from Horned Frog Nation. We are disappointed in you. You broke our hearts. You let yourself, your loved ones, and your frog family down. We will never experience Turpin Time again, but we will always remember the Legend of Turpin Time.
The harsh reality is that life, as you know it, is over. Your future in football hangs in the balance. But, you still have choices. You can always make good decisions and move forward. You can start by praying to God for forgiveness and asking your loved ones for forgiveness (Luke 17:4). Then, you can choose to grow up and put into action everything you’ve been taught while at TCU. You can be a good example to the young kids who idolize you. You can show them how to overcome setbacks. You can show them how to not take the easy way out. Your hardest days are still ahead of you, but you have God, your loved ones, and your Frog Family supporting you. Do not disappoint us again. Godspeed young Frog (Proverbs 3:5-6).
