TCU Women's Basketball Team Is Loaded

The TCU women’s basketball team is primed for a conference title run. The Frogs return eight players from last year’s squad, including all five starters. They have been selected fourth in the preseason Big-12 poll.

Three players have earned Preseason All-Big 12 Honors.

Senior, Amy Okonkwo #00 has been selected to the Preseason All-Big 12 Team. She is a 6’2″ forward out of Rancho Cucamonga, California. Last year, Okonkwo averaged 14.4 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. She had 34 assists, 16 blocks, and 30 steals on the year. Okonkwo won the 2017-2018 Big 12 Sixth Man Award. She was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team, as well as the Academic All-Big 12 Second Team.

Senior, Jordan Moore #22 earned Preseason All-Big 12 Honorable Mention. Moore is the teams Big 12 Champion For Life. She is a 6’3″ center from Round Rock, Texas. Last year, Moore averaged 13 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. She had 29 assists, 26 steals, and a mind-blowing 65 blocks. She earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention and was selected to the WNIT All-Tournament Team.

Junior, Adeola Akomolafe #33 was tabbed Preseason All-Big 12 Honorable Mention. The 6’1″ forward is from El Paso, Texas. She averaged 2.8 points and 2.9 rebounds per game, last year. She had 41 assists, 12 steals, and 21 blocks on the year. She was Academic All-Big 12 Second Team.

The season tip-off is Tuesday, November 6th, at noon against Duquesne University. Conference play starts on January 2nd when the Frogs host West Virginia University.
