Life is made up of memories and memories are made up of moments. Most adults, these days, remember seeing the movie, Field of Dreams and find themselves quoting Shoeless Joe Jackson: “If you build it, he will come” or “Go the distance”.
I’m not sure which movie will be this generation’s Field of Dreams. Perhaps, that movie has yet to be written. What I do know is that this night, Field of Sweet Dreams, is a moment that will, one day, be a memory that will last a lifetime. And it’s a memory that will get better and better with time.
This years sleepover was on Saturday, following the afternoon baseball game where TCU ended up sweeping Lamar.
TCU has created their own Field of Dreams. The Frog Family refers to it as Lupton Magic. This field has been known to be quite magical, especially during post season play.
So getting to spend the night, on the very grass, where so many magical games have been played, is pretty special. We adults get it and these kids will, one day, get it too.
But until then, they will continue to live in the moment enjoying life’s simple pleasures, while not fully understanding that these moments will be the memories of their lifetime. If you have never been to the sleepover, make sure to come out next year. If you are a regular, to the sleepover, keep coming. Your kids will thank you later.
Thank you, TCU, for giving your Frog 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 so many special moments in our life.
